Anesthesia Medical Alliance of East TN, PC is a private medical practice consisting of anesthesiologists, and nurse anesthetists who provide care team anesthesia and pain management services in the Knoxville area. Additional professional staff complements our core services to make our group a well-rounded leader in the field of anesthesia. Anesthesiologists are physicians (MDs) who have had three or more years of specialized training following graduation from medical school. Nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) are registered nurses who have graduated from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia. Our group was formed in 2001, pursuant to the merger of two long-standing anesthesia groups, Fort Sanders Anesthesia Group, PC (founded in the late 1960s) and DOR Anesthesia Services (founded in the late 1970s). With the 2004 merger with the Knoxville Anesthesia Group (founded in the late 1950s), Anesthesia Medical Alliance of East Tn has grown to 38 Board Certified MDs and over 100 nurse anesthetists. A comprehensive pain service consists of 2 full-time MDs board certified in Pain Management and 4 nurse practitioners and provide services for patients with Chronic Pain Syndromes, both interventional and detailed med evaluations. Additional interventional pain services are provided at our facilities by over 8 board certified pain specialists.
